How to remove the stereo step by step:

2

Start by prising up the trim around the gear stick. I found it easier to actually put my fingers into the ashtray and pull upwards on the small overhang on the trim. Note how I have the gear in PARK mode – we will have to move this into DRIVE mode later on to gain access.

2

Now with that piece of trim out of the way, you can move the clips on each side of the ashtray to release it (Careful not to break these as they can be brittle!) Then remove the ashtray.

3

Next you will need to put your foot on the brake and ignition key in and put the gear stick into DRIVE then get your head down and undo the 2x T20 Torx screws on the OUTSIDE as you look at them (The reason I say outside is there are 2x Torx screws on the inside which we don’t need to touch!)
Then remove the heater controls.

Now you need to have a keen eye here (I almost missed them!) – In the bottom corners of the air vent if you shine a torch you will see a Torx T20 screw which holds the air vents in place – Undo both of these as indicated by the red circles, then remove the trim surrounding the air vents with your trim panel tool.

5

Now the air vents if you prise softly at the top should come out. This will in turn reveal the 2 Torx T20 screws holding the hazard button panel in place.

Once this is gone, you simply have 4x Torx T20 screws left to undo which at last will allow the stereo to be removed!

Just like the picture above.

Remove radio and disconnect aerial and ISO wiring plugs from back.
